Michael is a Deutsche Bank veteran, looking back on more than 25 years, covering a broad variety of senior roles.

He joined the Investment Bank as a derivative specialist – building on his doctoral thesis on the valuation of interest rate derivatives. In addition to managing the risks of these derivative books he helped to develop the European securitization market with some inaugural transactions setting market standards.

Meanwhile he joined Group Treasury and acquired in-depth knowledge on all key topics of bank management.

He was instrumental in all major strategy reviews and all types of resulting M&A transactions.

In his different Supervisory Board roles, he led and supported the respective Boards to develop and execute sustainable long-term strategies.

Michael loves to think in scenarios to identify opportunities as well as “tail-risks” where he strives to hedge the latter with appropriate capital market instruments or a sound mitigation plan. Michael voluntarily lectured at Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich.

He studied economics and holds a doctorate in business administration. Michael calls himself a “petrol head”, is active in the classic cars scene and used to be Chairman of a marque club for several years.
