Heon Yoon worked as a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, based in Hong Kong, as Vice Chairman of Korea Coverage and Corporate Finance Korea managing overall sales and capital market business in Korea including derivatives products, DCM/ECM and M&A financing solutions.
He joined Deutsche Bank Hong Kong in 2002 in the Debt Capital Markets and Corporate Coverage Group and mandated and executed over 100 international financings for prominent Korean corporates. His contribution elevated DB from a peripheral player to a top league table standing. The firm widely recognized these contributions, evidenced by his accelerated promotion from Associate to Director within 2.5 years.
He moved to Deutsche Securities Korea, based in Seoul, as Head of Institutional Client Group and tripled revenue for asset side products in Korea. DB created the Head of Corporate/Sovereign Coverage role specifically for Korea, giving him a mandate over both asset-side and debt-side business with private and sovereign corporates. He also worked for DB Financial Investment as Head of Sales and Trading Group and for Meritz Securities as Head of Overseas Alternative Investment Division.
Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Heon passed the Korean Civil Service Examination and began his career in senior positions in the Korean Government as a Director in The Korea Fair Trade Commission and a Deputy Director in Korea Customs Service. He also served as an accounting officer in the Republic of Korea Navy.
Heon Yoon holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Seoul National University and a Master of Business Administration (with the distinction of Beta Gamma Sigma) from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
