Bob Foresman served as Vice Chairman of UBS Investment Bank, based in New York. Bob was one of UBS’s most senior origination and client coverage bankers globally across its investment banking and wealth management platforms.
He was the Barclays Group country head from 2009 to 2016 for Russia and the wider region, where he represented and coordinated the activities of Barclays Group, including investment banking, wealth management, corporate banking and asset management.
Bob was deputy chairman of Renaissance Capital, the Moscow-based investment firm, from 2006 to 2009, with a focus on originating the firm’s largest mandates and managing its most important relationships; chairman of the management committee for Russia /CIS at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (from 2001 to 2006); and head of investment banking for Russia/ CIS at ING Barings (from 1997 to 2000).
Bob also ran the Ukrainian Privatization Advisory office of the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) from 1993 to 1995 in Kyiv and worked on private equity and project finance transactions as an investment officer at IFC’s head office in Washington, DC, from 1995 to 1997.
Bob has served on numerous public and private company boards (NYSE, NASDAQ, London Stock Exchange). He is currently a shareholder and director of Miami Steel, a $650m private greenfield steel mill development in Homestead, Florida; a director of Noventiq, a global leader in IT services, digital transformation, and cybersecurity; and serves/served as director of several NYSE-and NASDAQ-listed Special Purpose Acquisition Corporations.
Bob is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was a member of the advisory board of Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies from 2017-2024.
Bob graduated from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences in 1993 (A.M. in Area Studies: Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia) and Bucknell University in 1990. (B.A in International Relations & Russian). He is fluent in Russian and proficient in Ukrainian. Bob and his wife, Luda, have 5 children and reside in Upstate NY.
