Batubay Ozkan is a macro investor and advisor with over 25 years of experience across credit, local markets, and structured products in both developed and emerging markets.
He is the Founder of EM Macro Consulting L.L.C-FZ, a Dubai-based advisory firm providing strategic counsel to family offices and corporations on macro strategy, risk management, and financing strategy.
Previously, Batubay was a Partner at Bluegrove Capital Management in London, where he served as a senior portfolio manager for a global credit fund. He also founded EM Macro Capital Limited, where he advised corporates on financing strategy and worked with hedge funds on macro strategy.
From 2018 to 2020, he was Deputy CEO of April Group in Moscow, where he launched and managed a fixed income arbitrage desk and established both onshore and offshore macro hedge fund platforms.
Earlier in his career, Batubay spent a decade at Deutsche Bank in Moscow and London, where he was a Managing Director and Head of CEEMEA Emerging Markets Debt Trading. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in New York in equity capital markets and proprietary trading in convertibles, before moving to Trust Investment Bank in Moscow, where he ran Equities and Structured Products.
Batubay earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and BA in Economics from Hamilton College. He is also a graduate of Robert College in Istanbul.
In addition to his professional activities, he supports education and conservation initiatives, including the Robert College Alumni Association and KuzeyDoga Conservation Society.
